Alternative power is the power generated by alternative power sources like the sun, wind, water, tides, biomass and heat generated inside the earth. The energy obtained from alternative power sources can be converted to several useful forms of to generate alternative power. Alternative power is available in various forms like solar power, wind power, bio diesel power, geothermal power and hydro electric power.
The demand for energy is ever increasing in the world because it cab be used for a number of purposes. These days energy is used for electricity generation, space heating, transportation, preparing food and for several other purposes. Most of these operations are performed by the use of coal and petroleum. Coal and petroleum are being used in huge quantities to generate electricity. But the generation of electricity by using coal and petroleum has become very expensive because the prices of fuel are rising steeply across the world. Also the reserves of coal and petroleum are decreasing and there will come a time when there would not be any coal or petroleum left. Therefore we need to use alternative power sources.
If alternative power sources are used the dependence on coal and petroleum will decrease and this will help to preserve coal and petroleum to meet energy requirements in the future. The expenses of electricity generation by using alternative power sources will also decrease.
Alternative power sources are clean and pollution free sources of energy that will always be readily available for use. This is because they are obtained from renewable sources of energy which will always be available which will never end.
