The fuel prices all over the world have increased and the fossil fuel reserves are fast depleting. This has led to an increased use of alternative energy sources to generate power to meet the requirements of industries and also the domestic energy needs. This has also resulted in a significant increase in the number of alternative power companies.

Alternative power companies function to generate alternative power from alternative power sources. With new innovations in technology, alternative power companies have been upgraded and they do more than just generate alternative power.

Alternative power companies discover new and clean alternative power sources that do not harm the environment in any way. They also develop new technologies that can harness alternative energy from renewable energy sources and generate alternative power from them. They also provide the generated electricity to industries.

Alternative power companies use innovative methods to discover new technologies to replace old and inefficient technologies for power generation. They work for developing strategies that can be used to harness alternative power sources more efficiently and effectively.

The alternative power companies use various methods to promote the use of alternative power so that we live in a cleaner environment. The alternative power companies also inform people of the benefits of using alternative power resources energy. These companies also use techniques that persuade people to switch from the use of conventional sources to the use of alternative power sources.

They promote the use of alternative power as an eco friendly, non- polluting and less costly source of power to meet the world’s power needs.

The rate at which the environment is getting polluted is alarming. The issue of degradation of environment is taken seriously by the people across the globe and that is why more and more people are using alternative power sources. Alternative power sources are used in alternative power generators to generate alternative power that does not cause any pollution. An alternative power store is created to store the power generated from the use of alternative power sources. The power generated by alternative power resources can be used to provide electricity to many areas at the same time thus solving the problem of electricity that is being faced today.

Alternative Power Companies are working to use alternative energy sources for powering vehicles. The alternative power companies are also trying to use alternative power to improve the quality of environment by using resources that do not cause pollution. The alternative power sources are renewable and can be replenished. The alternative energy companies are harnessing the alternative power resources so that in the future time, they are available as an alternative to traditional form of energy.

Alternative power sources can also efficiently address the issue of global warming as they do not contribute to it in any way. The use of alternative power sources must be made more popular because they will be the only resources left for use by the mankind in the times to come. Also the adoption of alternative power sources in place of traditional sources of energy will benefit the environment as well as mankind.

Alternative Power company sees opportunity to reduce energy consumption and create greater power efficiency.

Though venture-capitalism has a long history of seeking out innovative business models, some small alternative power companies are counting on the government itself for new business. Verdiem Corp. sells software that provides centralized control over power consumption, such as remotely turning off computer monitors left on overnight to conserve electricity. Most of the Seattle-based company’s growth has come from corporate customers, where energy expenditures can be prohibitively expensive and wasteful. But with President Obama’s declarations that he plans to improve the government’s own power efficiency, Verdiem Chief Executive Jeremy Jaech sees the possibility of growth and expansion.

The 60-employee company is planning on expanding its 20-person sales staff in the weeks ahead to focus specifically on federal operations in Washington, D.C. The alternative power company is planning to tap the information-technology companies that manage government buildings that have enormous staff numbers. Mr. Jaech sees the opportunity to assist in reducing energy consumption on the federal government’s estimated 6.5 million personal computers.

California Alternative Power Companies added over 500 megawatts of green power in 2008. Alternative Power companies are also revolutionizing geothermal energy.

Alternative Power Companies That Show Promise

Ormat Technologies is one of the alternative power companies that are revolutionizing the field of geothermal energy. Though partially owned by American business interests, 60 percent of it is owned by an Israeli holding company called Ormat Industries. It is the leading geothermal alternative power companies primarily in places like California and Nevada where geothermal resources are high. They are set to expand their capacity by two-thirds in the next two years.

Furthermore, California Alternative Power Companies added 500 megawatts of green power in 2008 – a 60% increase. The most difficult challenges lie not in the generation of the power, but rather the power transmission. This aspect will be have to be handled federally, which appears to be happening as the current administration is responsible for a total budget of $18.73 billion for the Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), 11 times more than the funding from 2008.

This huge influx of money bodes well for First Solar. This alternative power company trades on Nasdaq as FSLR, Energy Conversion Devices, which trades on Nasdaq as ENER, and FPL Group, which trades on NYSE as FPL. FPL group is a utility with big plans for solar and renewable energy. These alternative power companies, though beset by periodic setbacks in the current unstable economy, are poised to continue growing and generating profits.
